The Curtain Theatre
The Place We Called Home
The Curtain Theatre was an Elizabethan outdoor theater approximately one-third the size of the Globe Theatre in London. It was located on private property on the shores of Lake Austin amongst a large pecan tree grove and sat up to 250 patrons, in two gallery levels and one ground level. The intimate "Wooden O" design ensured that no seat in the house was farther than 25 feet from the stage. This allowed audience members to directly connect with the actors on stage, and vice-versa, upping the energy eleven-fold and making our shows that much better.
